In this article I intend to draw up some of the fundamental themes of Castoriadis' thought regarding politics and the collateral themes implied. To show that in the pendular character that his thought assumes, his political philosophy is also organized, in whose vision democracy and philosophy share a common origin in the Hellenic world and are distinctive still in contemporary western world. This investigation stems from Castoriadis' article The Greek Polis and the Creation of Democracy. A lengthy investigation which seeks to systematize Castoriadis' thought, having as background reference his political philosophy.
