Abstract

The most of the available data about vitality of mapudungún does not allow making comparisons along the time due to the methods that are used differ. In such a scenario, this work analyses the reliability of the data on the vitality of mapudungún supplied by the Casen Survey, whose method does not change from one application to another. Univariate and Bivariate statistical analysis were carried out on the data of Casen 2003 and 2013. Difficulties for making comparisons were observed due to the variability of the estimated indigenous population. Notwithstanding, the data from 2013 appears to be more reliable because it fits better with the projections and hypothesis made by previous works on the matter.
