Abstract

In Argentine cinema -and specifically within the diverse field of documentary film- of the last decade, the visual and sound spectrum of Jewishness has been amplified by a growing interest in biography and personal experience. This article explores Flora Reznik´s Pervomaisk (2018), a film essay in which the crisscrossing of documentary film and “contemporary art” and within these explorations of form, the topics of biography, territory, politics and generational difference, reclaim the actuality, by inquiring into archives and performance, of a desire called utopia.
