Construction and Trajectory of the Curriculum in Chile: A Perspective from the New Curricular Bases for 3rd and 4th Year of High School

Abstract

Since the return of democracy in Chile in the 1990s, the national curriculum has faced major changes and structural adjustments, which have responded to different interests of governments, as well as the political, educational and social scenario in the country. In that sense, it is very important to study and understand the trajectory of this curricular reforms when it comes to understanding the recent situation on the new curricular bases for III and IV grades in secondary school education, being the above, the culmination of a process of years of adjustments, changes and curricular overlays.
